Postprocessors
Manufacturing companies worldwide encounter the same problems. In theory their CNC systems are to be controlled by NC programs in the neutral DIN format. However, in reality most controlling systems do not meet the DIN standard. Therefore, it is necessary to cover all important machining commands not according to the DIN format, but base them specifically on the machine. This is done with the help of so - called postprocessors (PP).
When talking about NC programming a postprocessor is a software solution which converts neutral data such as CLDATA (Cutter location data) into the according machine specific NC programs, where CLDATA format (DIN 66215) and NC program structures (DIN 66025) are standardized.
Machine and controlling unit specific aspects can efficiently be covered with the PP development environment designed by TECHSOFT. Thereby, NC programs are exactly suited to the specific requirements of a company.
